Ever wonder how beautiful glowing skin happens? The answer is chemical peels! The word “chemical” may sound scary to some, but there is nothing to fear. Peels are just another form of exfoliation. Unlike topical scrubs which only work on the surface of the skin, peels penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin revealing a newer, fresher layer of skin, which more vibrant and youthful look.
How They Work
The blended medical grade acids that are used in chemical peels loosen the bonds between cells. When that happens, the upper layers of tissue are dissolved and the skin instantly starts to rejuvenate itself, allowing new tissue to come to the surface. The powerful antioxidants and active ingredients in the peel protects the new skin, helps to synthesize elastin and collagen thereby plumps the skin, and fades pigmentation.
Peels can be done for variety of conditions like acne, sun spots, melasma, freckles, dull skin, and aging skin.
In more simple terms, peels remove all excess and dead skin leaving behind brand new skin with better hydration, elasticity, plumping effect and reduced pigmentation ! For those who are scared of any damage, don’t worry! Not all peels are equal. We use peels from international reputed companies, hence greater efficacy with no side effects or downtime.
There are 3 different types of peels:
- Light Peels (These are the peels we offer at Clinic One)
These are the gentlest versions of peels which are extremely effective with very little down time, also known as “Lunch Time Peels”. They result in very little redness and mild flaking, if any. They are great for dry skin and help improve hydration and help to exfoliate a little deeper and are recommended for oily, and problematic skin.
- Medium Peels (These are the peels we offer at Clinic One)
They are a more mild form of a deep peel which will not require as much recovery time. These are best to treat surface wrinkles, and uneven skin tone leaving the skin noticeably more vibrant and smooth.
- Deep Peels
These are the strongest form, which means they can be the most discomforting, and need much more recovery time to heal (possibly weeks). It causes a deeper burn to the skin, and produces much more dramatic results in deep wrinkles, and pigmentation that goes beyond just the surface due to the amount of peeling that takes place.
Peels can be one of the least invasive ways to improve the look of skin with instant results. They can be a fast track to smother and brighter skin. Chemical peels increase cell turn over which helps to produce collagen giving the skin a more plump and youthful look as well as reducing fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and pigmentation. This is something that is a must for your skin care routine.
