Pollution-Free Future Nepal: Clean Air, Our Shared Responsibility
The KUSOM Annual Festival, in collaboration with Clinic One, had taken a significant step toward combatting the pressing issue of air pollution in Nepal.
The Walkathon with the theme ‘Clean Air, Our Shared Responsibility’ for Pollution-Free Future Nepal, was held on June 3, 2023 under the esteemed presence of Santosh Poudel, MD of Clinic One, Prof. Dr. Devi Prasad Bedari, the Dean of Kathmandu University School of Management. The event was supported by Miss Nepal 2023, Srichchha Pradhan that aims to raise awareness about the adverse effects of air pollution on public health and the environment.
As we know, air pollution is a global crisis affecting millions of lives, and Nepal is no exception to this challenge.
With rapid urbanization and industrial growth, the Kathmandu Valley has been struggling with alarmingly high levels of air pollution. This dire situation has led to a surge in respiratory diseases, cardiovascular problems, and other health issues, primarily affecting vulnerable populations such as children and the elderly.
